His older brother, Noah, is best friends with my son Max and his mom his having a huge one year bash for him in March and wanted some pictures to display. Sun at The Beach

Same adorable couple, different outfits.... and a much happier baby since it wasn't as freezing of a day as our first shoot!! Love the colors in these photos with the pop of blue sky and bright sunlight. I normally am not used to shooting in direct sun, so it took some getting used to, but I think I really like these bright and light and happy photos! This was the most beautiful Seattle day and now mr. Sun has gone away for awhile:(. Thanks for a truly enjoyable afternoon, guys! Jax could NOT be cuter.

Braving the wind at Picnic Point Beach

I was so excited when Ali wanted me to take some family pictures! Aren't they such a gorgeous couple? Hello I'd kill for Ali's awesome hair! So beautiful. It was a COLD day right on the water, and add the wind to the mix-- poor baby Jax lasted about 5 minutes. I think we managed to get a few cute ones before he was over and done with all the wind though. Thanks so much you guys. More pics coming your way soon. See ya soon at church! :)

Darling miss Amaya is close in age to my little girl Ruby, so I felt right at home with this shoot.:) It was a beautiful day at Magnuson...the sun even came out and warmed us up for a bit. I had fun exploring with Amaya... we even found these HUGE mushrooms. Yes that's a mushroom in the first picture!

I'm telling you.. This session was full of just plain old FUN. I basically chased the duo around while they ran about and explored. I love the kind of pics you achieve when the kids are so care free. I think what every parent wants most for their children is just for them to be happy, and these two are exactly that! Kids epitomize wonder and exemplify joy. Why can't adults be like that-- Do you ever see us get this excited about leaves? We totally should. Love these shots!

Heather has THE most gorgeous eyes. Ever. I never tend to make eyes bluer through photoshop anyway, but trust me, no altering on these were done at all. Totally natural. Totally amazing.

This little squirt had me at hello. Little blond babies tug at my heart strings a little; I can't lie. And Olivia was adorable! We got lots of pics with Mom and Dad down at her level, rather than standing because she just liked it better that way! It's almost like when we stood up to take pics, she knew what was going on, and wasn't having it! ha ha. I was amazed at how smart she was. I like squatting-down pics anyway sometimes. More candid and natural looking. Don't worry though Andrea, we got a few posed cute standing ones I just haven't edited them all yet:)

Ah, what a perfect day! No rain, and just enough sun to make the skies and pictures have a pretty blue color (not to mention match Aspen's beautiful blue dress!), with a touch of clouds and overcast to filter out some of the harsh sunlight.

Walking all throughout Discovery Park this day felt more like fun than work, and I quite enjoyed myself with this gorgeous family. One of my fav. Seattle ~~families~~ friends. :) Thanks for letting me take part in these fun family memories. Hope you'll cherish these forever...

A Quick Utah mini-shoot

Ok, I'm so far behind! How did I forget to post these, Barb? This is my good friend from high school and her darling family. Yeah, gorgeous people. Last time I was in Utah (for my sisters wedding), we got some quick family shots real quick one day before I had to head back. I just love these guys! It was fun to hang out with them while we were in Utah.. They invited us over one day to chat over a delicious homemade breakfast one of the days we were there also...which was so fun! Dan (my hubby), and John (her hubby) are good friends from the USU days, and since Barb and I are good friends, it's so fun to get together. The worst is when husbands of your friends don't mesh well, and that's not the case with these guys, so it's awesome.

Anyway, here's a tiny sneak peek.

One Year Old - Seattle baby, child, family photography

Is it weird to say I love this baby girl? I've taken her newborn, 6 month, and now one year pics and it has been fun to watch her grow! Isn't she just beautiful? Her eyelashes and cute full lips... so darling. It melted my heart a little when the session was over and she reached out and gave me a big fat baby hug. I loved it.

For this session, Zuza's mommy wanted the location at their house and yard, and it was perfect and sentimental. We got to capture some shots in her darling butterfly bedroom as well as her exploring the yard. A fun Saturday, indeed. Thanks you guys! Enjoy your sneak peek.:) Many more to come.

Alright. I have to be honest that this was probably my fav location I've ever shot at! We went to a little private beach that the family lives by, and it was beautiful! The sun was setting, the light was perfect, the setting.... Aaah, I love Washington. It's so gorgeous! I haven't even got around to editing the ones by the water/beach yet, but here's a few I caught in the fields by the shore.

Normally I don't post this many for a sneak peak/blog appearance, but this family was extra patient with me, as we already had to reschedule our first shoot.

A beautiful famiy... I love the way the kids interacted with each other. It was adorable and I had a blast. Thanks you guys!

Beautiful and Glowing

Meet Hilary and Adam. They're good friends of ours and expecting their first baby in July! I'm sooo excited to see whether this baby is a boy or a girl! (They're not finding out the sex and it's killing me because I want to make the fetus something but I don't know what it is! ha ha)

Hilary is so stunning and beautiful! Isn't she the cutest pregnant lady ever? And even though Adam wasn't too excited for pictures, he put up with us forever and *tried* to endure it. :)

I am excited for you two and this time in your lives. You'll be amazing parents. I'm so glad I could help you capture these memories. What a beautiful couple you are!

Hilary brought a couple of cute baby books she's been getting at showers and such, and

we caught a few shots of them reading to their baby. Hilary has told me they read and sometimes sing to the baby so this is so cute.

Ha Ha. I told them to dance with each other on the beach.

This is funny, b/c the rocks were pretty slippery and Adam kept loosing his balance. But I think it's a sweet picture nevertheless.

LOL! Even though this is a pic of us being silly, I still love it:)

It captures Hilary's fun-loving personality. She's giving me some sass. It didn't really feel like a photoshoot, but rather just us chatting away and goofing off for a few hours.

My Little Sis...

Is getting hitched!! What the?! To me, she still seems too little, but I guess she's all grown up and old enough to be married I suppose. I couldn't be happier for these two. He's an amazing, sweet guy and so cute to her. They make such a handsome couple and I can't WAIT for the wedding in June! We totally love Daniel and welcome him into our family 100%!

While in Utah for her shower, we snapped some Engagements really quick. I am SO not chill enough to take on my own sisters wedding photography on the big day. I'd stress too much wanting everything to be perfect, but I agreed to do an engagement shoot at least. That, I can handle:) ha ha.

During our shoot it was pretty much drizzling the whole time. Ironic that I left Sunny Seattle to come to a rainy Utah Easter weekend, but that's fine! The rain, I'm used to. And also, I thought it was kind of cute. Natalie always has loved when it rains so this was the perfect mood/setting for her photos. Plus I think the rain is kinda romantic.

Nat, there are sooo many more, it's ridiculous. These are all I could go through so far but I'll work fast on finishing up the rest because I know you guys are anxious to see them. There are tons of formal posed, looking-at-the-camera ones too, but for some reason I always tend to edit the candids first.

I think your little "rain" hair wispies are so cute up top, Nat. But if they bug you, I can photoshop them out so your hair looks more smooth:) Just sayin'.

Haha. I love how he's already half way up and she's barely taking off. I thought this would make you smile, Nat. LOL.

He was such a good sport with all my dumb requests. "Lean in and pretend like you're telling her a secret." He's probably thinking "Lame!" ha ha. But he played along with everything like a champ and they had such fun together.

Haha. Ok, ignore the post title if you aren't country music savy...

Anyway. This cute girl looked darling on her Grandpa's mini tractor. (last photo.)

She also looked oh-so-cute in her Grandpa's car, and his mini fire truck. (He's a retired fireman, so it even has more meaning.)

This whole shoot in fact was in her Grandpa's back yard, which makes it special I think. I love when clients choose to do locations that have meaning to them in some sort of way. She kept pulling the cutest faces-which included, but weren't limited to, the irresistible pucker-lip face in a lot of the pictures. She's so beautiful! And her mommy is too! Thanks for a fun Saturday. I really enjoyed myself. Hope you love them as much as I do.

Sun in Seattle on a Saturday

I didn't suspect too many blossoms to be out this early, since it's been a bit of a chilly winter here. To my surprise there were a select few trees starting to bloom at the Arboretum! Spring is coming folks...I'm so excited! Usually you can plan on any time of day for a photo session in Seattle because it's not usually sunny until summer rolls around, so we planned this one for mid-late afternoon. This particular saturday the sun was out all day however. It made it warm, but we also had to look for places with open shade so we didn't have to squint.

This family was a complete joy. It was fun to capture their interactions with their son. You could tell they're all so close. He was a typical boy -- wanting to climb all the trees and skip rocks. I loved every second.

I love LOVE the colors in this photo... the blue, the monochromatic pinks, and most of all that mossy green tree! I love green and I love the look of moss. This tree was cool.

Brother/Sister love

So ya know how it gets dark around 4 pm now?! Yeah. not loving that! By the time this cute boy (who, by the way... isn't he just darling?!), got up from his nap it was getting very dark very fast. It was dark, cloudy, and very grey and I was worried there just wasn't going to be enough light at all. However I am pleased with them and enjoyed this session so much.

We wanted to shoot these in Alison's home, where it would be a special memory of the kids in their own special place.

Baby Z didn't make one peep hardly. Not even when mom was changing her into her many different outfits throughout the shoot-- what an angel baby! I love being around babies and seeing their parents interact with them. It brings me so much joy. She is beautiful you guys. I love her big brown eyes and beautiful lips! Farewell Seattle {Seattle Family Photographer}

I have to say, this was probably one of the nicest families I've met thus far. They were a joy to work with. Sara contacted me wanting to do some shots at Kerry park in order to get the city's skyline in the background because they're moving soon and wanted fun Seattle shots to remember the city by. Fabulous idea! I was nervous though when we drove up and it was total fog and misty rain. You couldn't see the space needle at all! It was so gray (typical.) Anyway, after about 20 mins it cleared up enough to at least see some buildings behind and get the space needle in there. Still really foggy and overcast, but that represents the Seattle memory perfect anyway! I actually love that we captured the seattle climate perfectly:) I'm glad I was able to help this family preserve some memories here before they leave us. Thanks so much guys! Warren's First Birthday

When I was in Utah, my sister's first baby had his first birthday. The party was SO darling. Everything was perfect. I was so glad I was able to celebrate with him. The very first birthday of your first baby is kind of a special. I always thought it was, anyway. I love this boy so much. He was hands down the cutest one year old eating his cake, too! He was such a ham for the camera. He loved it, but I wouldn't expect anything else from him. He's a pretty chill dude in general. It was nice I was able to snap some pictures for Whit so she could thoroughly relax and just "enjoy" the party with her boy without having to pick up the camera. There are tons more whit (like all the party details), but I wanted to at least post these ones since his faces are just too cute.

Warren, I love you. Here's to saying bye to baby-hood and hello to being a toddler!

A beautiful fall day

The majority of the time I was in Utah, it was so sunny and warm. I'm always nervous shooting in harsh sun, but I think these turned out great b/c we found some spots with shade and decent light. I really love shooting families. It's fulfilling following them around- capturing their memories and preserving the fleeting moments. Something about it is so rewarding to me. I've known Corie from back in the college days when she and I were room mates in college one year. It was so fun to see you again! I love your cute little family!

Her boys love books and so she brought a few to read.

A sunny afternoon

We lucked out with this session! It was supposed to be rainy, but ended up being in the high 70's, and sunny! Are you sick of the outdoor beach/sea grass/field location yet? I'm not. I can't get enough. I think Seattle is so gorgeous and I'm loving green scenery lately. Plus Golden Gardens is where Tysha and Jacob had their wedding reception, so she really wanted pictures in this beautiful (and special) location.

This girl is one of my close friends. Seriously one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Plus we have a LOT in common too, which is so fun--boys for our first, baby girls for our second, same faith, same beliefs, live close, same hobbies (crafts, sewing, photography, etc. etc.)

A birthday boy {seattle children and family photographer}

When Sara contacted me to do some photos for Max's one year mark, I was so excited! I told her that I have a Max too and it was an instant bond between us:) He was so cute and curious and all BOY-- picking up rocks and dirt and sand. It brought me back to my Max's toddler days and made me miss those times like crazy.

We had some sprinkles during the session and then it started to POUR down right as we were wrapping it up. I think we managed to get in some darling shots before the weather turned.

Golden Gardens Park

What a beautiful family! This was the first shoot that I took on after having the baby, and I had forgotten how much I love it. I love seeing families interact and siblings loving each other. I love hanging out with good, genuine people- capturing their memories and taking in all the gorgeous scenery. What could be better? Thanks guys for a lovely afternoon! Oregon Coast

I recently returned home from a week long vacation with my family, relaxing on the Oregon Coast. I quickly snapped some pictures one morning in between all the babies' nap times. It was pretty cold and really windy, so fast snapping was essential! Here's a few that I got in the short amount of time I had before we all got blown away. I love these photos. I love the people in them. I love the memories and emotions captured. I love that I have such an incredible support system and grounded family. I think I'll love these forever. Enjoy.

Still Alive

Whoooaaa Nellie. What has it been? Seven months since I've posted? I was too big and pregnant to take pictures, and then...well, quite frankly I just didn't want to since having my daughter. I've wanted to soak up every minute with her, which I have absolutely treasured. We are smitten with this little thing! However, I'm starting up a limited number of sessions here in the near future and have some scheduled so I'll try to be better about posting. Stay tuned.

For now, enjoy some recent pictures of my girly since 'she' is what i've been up to the past little while.

All the rest of these following images are from when she was newborn or a couple of months. I literally took hundreds of newborn shots and never know which ones to post, so here's just a couple from the past. It is so fun to see how much she's changed in just three short months!

I had the opportunity of taking pics of this handsome guy over the weekend. He had the cutest features (including those long fingers and toes)- I was in love with him by the end of the session. EEk! I've had all these sessions done for awhile now, I just haven't had the energy to upload a few favs, with all that's been going on with the holidays. I hope you all have a merry Christmas!! I don't have any more sessions until January so I'll catch you in 2010.

my brother (his daddy), served a mission in Russia and this was a handmade blanket he brought back from the mission. pretty special to wrap his little boy in it.

I haven't been the best about updating this photo blog with the (3) sessions I've had thus far in Seattle:) hehe. I'll get to those eventually, but I swore I'd be better so here's some recent sneak peaks from my sessions while I was in Utah over Thanksgiving. I'll update more from each of the sessions later, but one pic each will do for now. It was a crazy week, with a session a day, maybe two per day. I'm swimming in editing all the shoots, but it's so much fun. I truly love photography.

I know this site needs a facelift as far as design/ header/beauty goes... maybe I'll get to that eventually. Low on my priority list.
